The Clarissine Church, 2022
The Church of the Poor Clares in Bratislava is an important Gothic structure, built in the 14th century as part of a convent complex for the Poor Clare order. The convent and church were established by Hungarian nobility to foster education and spiritual life. This church is characterized by its tall tower, which was once the tallest structure in Bratislava. During the Reformation, the convent was dissolved, and the church later served as a secular space. Today, it functions as a cultural landmark, hosting various artistic events, concerts, and exhibitions. The building is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Bratislava’s historic center.
