The view of Bratislava Castle from the bridge over the railway track, seen by the train engineer as the train enters the city, is unique. Near the Ahoj hill, the castle’s silhouette dominates the scene, contrasting with the tracks and surrounding greenery. Perched on a hill above the city, the castle serves as a reminder of Bratislava’s rich history and its past role as a protective stronghold and royal residence.
Bratislava Castle has witnessed centuries of change, from its origins in the 9th century through various reconstructions to its current form. This perspective of the castle from the engineer’s vantage point highlights Bratislava as a city where history and modern urban life intersect.
Each print is original and hand-printed. A special oil paint is applied to the rubber roller. The paint is applied to the lino with an engraved image with a roller. After placing the paper on the lino, the image is transferred to the paper by pressure.
